How Moon.com works

Strip away the chart and the product is small: pick a market, pick a direction, choose a wager, choose a multiplier, and Moon takes the other side. That last bit explains most of the rest.

What Moon.com is

Moon.com is a market-price wagering platform where users bet Up or Down on referenced asset prices. It is not MoonPay, it is not Pay with Moon, and it is not an exchange where users own the underlying asset.

Crypto, equities, futures, commodities, forex. Round the clock, extended hours included. You never own the referenced asset, and Moon says there is no spot trading anywhere on the platform. You are betting on the price, not buying the thing.

What one bet looks like

  1. Pick a market and a direction

Up or Down on the referenced price. No third option, no draw, no hedge.

  2. Set the wager

Your wager is the money at stake, and Moon says it is also the most you can lose on that bet. The balance can't go below zero.

  3. Choose leverage

Moon offers up to 1000x. The wager doesn't change; what changes is how much price movement gets converted into profit or loss, and how quickly it can wipe you out.

  4. Optionally set automatic closes

Auto Profit Close and Auto Loss Close, both in currency amounts. Handy for the bets you don't want to sit and watch.

  5. Watch the max-loss price

Moon draws a red line on the chart. When the referenced price touches it, the bet closes automatically, wager gone. It's a floor, not a warning.

The leverage arithmetic in detail: leverage and the max-loss price. What each bet costs: the fee schedule.

Where the prices come from

Moon references three third-party feeds: DXFeed, Pyth Network and SEDA Protocol. Moon states it doesn't create or manipulate the prices you see, and that the platform reads from those feeds.

Referencing a feed isn't the same as executing on an exchange. Your bet settles against Moon's quoted price, and Moon's own terms disclose a house edge baked into that price, separate from the fee schedule and additional to it. Two costs, one number on the screen.

Why the terms insist this is not trading

Moon's terms, dated 15 July 2026, call the products entertainment and gaming products offered for recreational use. Not investment. Not trading. Not brokerage or advisory. Bets are not securities. Moon puts that in writing so nobody is confused about what they signed up for.

The same document says Moon.com acts as the House, the principal counterparty to every bet, with a direct financial interest in the outcome of every bet. That's the structural fact that separates this from a broker relationship, and it comes from Moon, not from us reading between lines.

Which is why nothing here gets framed as investing, trading strategy or financial advice.Moon.com is also not MoonPay, a separate company in payments.

Access, apps and sessions

  • No native mobile app. You use the mobile browser and there's an Add to Home Screen option that behaves like an installed app if you want the icon.
  • Two-factor authentication via an authenticator app, plus passkey login using Face ID, fingerprint or a device PIN.
  • Account settings show a list of active sessions, and a password reset logs every one of them out. Handy on the day you realise you're still signed in on an old laptop.
  • Deposits are crypto only, and Moon warns to match the asset and the network exactly.

Verification requirements are covered separately inaccount and identity verification.
